Late appointments
Rainford Health Centre offers late GP appointments on a Wednesday and Thursday evening, and practice nurse appointments on a Wednesday.
Please note these are for routine pre-booked appointments only. No urgent cases will be seen. The reception area and the telephone lines will close at 6:30pm.
Occasionally, due to staff holidays, we may need to change these sessions.
Enhanced access
Additional access to primary care services on weekday evenings and a Saturday, are now available. To book an appointment please telephone the surgery on the main surgery number and speak to our reception staff.
There are a range of clinicians and services on offer providing both faces to face and telephone appointments.
You will be seen by a local clinician, who will not necessarily be from your GP practice. ANP, nurses, pharmacists and podiatrists will be available.
Protected learning closures
The practice will be closed for protected learning for both clinical and administration staff. This is for essential updates and training. This will be on the afternoons of the following dates:
- Thursday 26th June 2025
- Thursday 24th July 2025
- Wednesday 24th September 2025
- Wednesday 22nd October 2025
- Thursday 27th November 2025
- Thursday 26th February 2026
- Wednesday 25th March 2026
If you require an emergency appointment between 1pm and 6.30pm, you can ring the practice number, and you will be diverted to our out of hours service.
If you need help when we are closed
Out of hours service
