Appointments

How Do I Make an Appointment?

To make an appointment please visit our consulting room.

Doctors’ surgeries are by appointment during the following hours:

Morning Surgeries: 09:00 to 11:10 Monday to Friday

Evening Surgeries: 14:00 to 18:10 Monday to Friday

Requests for appointments can be made by phone or in person at the health Centre between 08:00 and 18:30 Monday to Friday.

You can also register with the practice for online services and this will enable you to book and cancel appointments at your convenience, even when the surgery is closed.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason, please ring and tell reception or inform us via our online form as soon as possible for us to give the slot to someone else.

We try to offer an appointment for a routine problem within 2 weeks. If you feel you must be seen urgently, please tell the receptionist. Your request will then be triaged by the on-call GP who will then decide the course of action needed. In order that we can maintain this system we ask you do not insist on an urgent appointment unless you are in significant discomfort, or you feel your problem cannot wait for the next routine appointment.

We regret that we cannot guarantee that you will see a particular doctor if you attend as a matter of urgency. For routine appointments you may consult the doctor of your choice.

Please note that we are a training practice, and we offer appointments with our Specialist Trainee doctors. These are fully qualified doctors who are training in primary care for periods of 6 to 12 months (see website pages Staff – Doctors – GP Registrars). They are fully supported by their respective trainer throughout their time here. If you feel that your problem is of a more complex nature or a long-term condition you may feel it more appropriate to book with a substantive member of the team just to aide continuity. However, these Trainee doctors are the GPs of tomorrow and do need to gain experience in all aspects of primary care.
